This was uptown? Looked a little downtown in ways...Kara thought to herself in some ways. I thought big cities were a bit more flashy than this.
Then again she has only experienced what she saw on TV shows that were running in Smallville at the Kent Farm. She'd only flown over New York City, not really experienced the scene yet. And all the other towns she had been hidden in were all small towns in the middle of nowhere.
Kara was currently still trying to stick to the whole Linda Lang identity with the wig and glasses. Her brown hear was tucked into a loose bun and glasses were a bit small. Maybe I could ditch them later for a bit and if anyone sees me from school I'll just say I switched to contacts, she wondered.
She had gotten some ticket to a local concern featuring a woman named Cassidy or something. She didn't know much about her but she'd figure she would go out and try to be 'normal'. Linda was wearing a pair of skinny jeans that were stained with bleach mark (seemed to be a style), a pair of sneakers, and a white tank top with a black cardigan.
Her cell phone buzzed in her pocket indicating she had reached the location on the map. It was a modest shop with a laid back look to it. Wood floors and tables pulled away from the main stage for the night's entertainment. There was already someone checking tickets of those coming in.
Linda stood in the line that was forming for the beginning of the show. She phone buzzed again and it was Clark.
I know I suggested this, but you need to get out and not just stick the the canvas. Just because you have to be in another identity doesn't mean you can't have fun. Just be safe and don't do anything that will draw attention to yourself - Clark. Clark had texted.
"Really Clark," Linda rolled her eyes. She knew her cousin meant well, but she wasn't a baby and he was always checking in on her.

Tonight was going to be one to remember! One thing everyone knew about Nikki is that she was a bit of a music junkie. She probably spent at least half of her free time listening to music, dancing to music, or humming because there was no music present. So when her boss decided to show some appreciation for her hard work - her numbers just kept going up, slowly but surely - it was probably an easy guess for him that she'd appreciate some concert tickets.
But a couple of tickets would have been a normal gift - instead, her boss had managed to pull some strings with a friend of a friend, and he'd managed to get her five. She'd been thrilled when she got them, though she quickly realized that five was still actually such a small number - she had way more than four friends, after all. Though it had actually been kind of fun to figure out who to bring out of everyone she could have picked and the number of tickets had worked out perfectly - she was currently single and the two friends she thought would appreciate the concert the most both had boyfriends. She'd considered making it a girl's night, but the social logistics of finding two, and only two, more girls got too complicated.
Piling out of Jeannine's car, the group of assorted young adults chatted enthusiastically as they made their way into the venue and found the end of the line - paying no particular note to the teen who was in line just in front of them.
"Seriously, though, give her another year and she'll fill a stadium."
"Well, I've never heard of her before."
"That's because you're lame, Alan."
"Hey, I've got more important things to do than to keep up with the music industry," Alan said defensively, though his tone indicated that he was taking it in good humor.
"Shh, don't say that in front of Nikki!" she replied, playfully covering the ears of the girl in the group with hair dyed like fire.
"Hey, Candy, get off me!" Nikki protested, "Alan can be lame if he wants to!" Which prompted a laugh from Candy.
"So... where are we sitting?" spoke up the third girl after a pause - shyer than the others, she'd waited for a lull in the conversation to speak up.
"Good question, Jeannine! Did we get front row? Tell me we got front row!" Candy said, trying to look over Nikki's shoulder as she pulled the tickets out of her purse.
"Nah, we're in section B," Nikki replied, holding up the tickets so that Candy could see.
"Oh, lame!" Candy responded, pretending to be more upset than she was, though it was easy to tell because she was still grinning.
"Hey, section B is still pretty good, especially for free. I betcha my boss told them I was press. But they're not going to give up the front row for free - that stuff is expensive! I mean, it's Cassidy, in this small of a venue, and she's only doing in Gotham for a few days," Nikki pointed out.
"Yeah, sure, I just want to be close - Cassidy does a lot of cool pyrotechnics," Candy said.
"She does? That'll be awesome!" Alan said with a bit more enthusiasm.
"You mean there's fire?" Jeannine asked, sounding a little nervous.
"Controlled fire - it'll be great, you'll see!" Nikki reassured.
It was then that the unnoticed teen said something that attracted the attention of the other guy in the group, who had been quiet up until this point. "Huh? Are you talking to me?" he asked, looking at the young brunette in confusion because he had no idea who she was.
"No, dummy, she was talking to her phone. Must be another Clark," Candy said with a laugh, "Betcha it's her dad - your fault for having a boring, old man name."
"Hey, now you see here..." he said, waggling his finger in her face, but his attempt to pretend to be upset didn't go so well because he couldn't help but crack a smile.
Laughing at their antics, Nikki turned her attention to the teen they'd interrupted. "Ignore them - they're dorks," she said, laughing again.
"You're here by yourself?" Jeannine asked curiously, noting that the girl didn't appear to be clustered with the people in front of her either.

Linda had heard the group coming in and had glanced when they had first entered through the doors. They looked quite a bit older than her, though seemed like a very energized group. This helped her feel more at ease at this strange place. Not that she couldn't handle herself if something were to go wrong. Though still it was nice to see others enjoying the evening out.
Gotham was still a strange place to her. Walking around was a bit inconvenient when you could fly. But she wasn't in the middle of no where now where there were people at every turn. All with phones, ready and willing to film anything and everything out of the ordinary. There had already been video captured of some minor incidents. Thankfully most the pictures were out of focus and did not catch her face.
She hoped someday she could just go around as if everything was normal. Not that she minded the name Linda Lang as she greatly liked Lana Lang her "aunt" who had been helping her out. Hence why she adopted the name of Linda Lang. Though it would be nice to go back to being called Kara again...
There was already rumors of another super in town (not Gotham to be exact), rather on Earth. There had been stories of course of her crash landing in the Gotham Bay or something around those lines. She didn't rightly remember it all. She mainly remember feeling uncomfortable and anger that no one could understand her and some grumpy old guy in a Bat suit finding her and weakening her with Krytonite. Only to wake up on a chilled table and wired up for what seemed like testing. Which she had learned later from Clark was kinda, sort of what the Batman had been doing. Not that he was planning to use her as a test subjects like some of the crazies claimed the government did to UFO creatures when they got the chance.
So at her words and someone answering her, Linda turned around quickly in surprise to the response. "Oh, no, I was talking about my cousin," she waved it off. "Sorry about that. I didn't realize I had said that out loud."
She gave a slight smile at first to the girl who had said they were dorks. Though at the next comment, she gave a slight flush of red of embarrassment over the situation to be honest. It was a bit weird for a teen to be going out doing things by themselves it seemed on this planet. At least that was the impression she had been getting when she was caught outside or in study periods by herself compare to her peers who usually paired up. Turned out the only people she actually allow to have interactions with her were either in a different grade or had a different class schedule.
"Hey, I thought it might be nice to get out for once and check out a bit of Gotham," she answered a bit shyly.

"See? It's her cousin," Clark immediately repeated to Candy once he heard that information, his tone victorious. The way the two invaded each other's personal space during their playful argument hinted at the fact that the two were a couple. Who probably did that all the time, to judge by the fact that everyone else seemed to ignore it.
When the teen became embarrassed by her question, it was Jeannine's turn to become embarrassed herself, as she was very prone to that emotion herself and hadn't meant to cause it in someone else. "Oh! You're fine. It's just... uh... you'll want to be careful 'cause sometimes there's creeps at these things, so you'll want to keep an eye out for that if you're alone..." she hastily explained the reason for her question.
"Oh, come on, you worry too much, Jeannine," Nikki interjected with a slight roll of her eyes, but the genuine smile on her face indicated the genuine fondness she had for her friend. Turning her attention back toward the teen she said, "I've gone to more concerts than I can even remember, and I've never met any creeps. Besides, this is Cassidy. Her fans are a good crowd, and everyone will be too busy rocking out to do anything else. You'll see - it'll be a blast!"
Though Nikki and her friends were all young adults about the same age, were clearly together as a group, and were all ready and excited about this concert, there was something different about Nikki. And it wasn't just the attention-grabbing color of her hair, but the extreme confidence in her eyes and how she carried herself. And this in spite of fact that she was a full three inches shorter than the younger girl she was talking to and didn't look like much physically. In fact, she probably could easily be mistaken for a teen herself aside from the group she arrived with a few subtle details about her appearance - her taste in clothes and such was just slightly too mature for a high school student.
"And yeah, it's a great way to check out Gotham - nobody's tour is complete without a stop here, so there's plenty of concerts to go to and if there's anything that this city is good at it's a party," she said with an easy smile, as that's how she saw the city she called home. "So where you from, then?" she asked curiously, as she assumed a local would have simply said they needed to get out rather than adding that they wanted to check out the city.
