Tricorner

Named for its triangular shape, the southern edge of this island is dominated by the Tricorner Yards - which was once a shipyard for the U.S. Navy, but it was later decommissioned. Now it operates in private hands, able to build and repair many of the largest ships in the world, including cruise ships and cargo ships. Much of the island is taken up by associated businesses, which provide steel and other supplies needed by the shipyard, but there are also some residences. It's not the most ideal location to live so near to so many industrial works, and crime is sometimes a problem, but at least it isn't Park Row.

Other Isles
South of Downtown is a group of rocky islands. The largest is Tricorner, which reaches far enough south to count as the southernmost tip of Gotham. The second largest is Blackgate Isle, which is dominated by Blackgate Penitentiary - which is naturally made more difficult to escape due to its location on a small island with nothing else on it. The rest of the islands are much smaller - too small to be valuable as proper real estate so instead they are managed as parks - including the island where the Statue of Justice stands.
