Sub-board: Wayne Manor Also known as Bristol or Crest Hill, due to the proximity of the three neighborhoods, this is the part of the mainland north of the main islands that make up the core of Gotham City. An affluent area that is known for the many large estates of the rich and elite who want to live in Gotham but like to have even more room than a penthouse suite can provide. Many of the various businesses that cater to the wealthy can be found in the area, especially those that require a bit of room such as country clubs. |

Located partway between Uptown and Midtown, this smaller, roughly triangular island was once considered to be a pleasant oasis from the crowds of the city. Most of it once belonged to the Arkham family, but during some point of financial trouble many decades ago the western side of the island was sold to make way for a sewage treatment plant and the Trigate Bridge - which splits off into a large interchange that connects Uptown and Midtown to the mainland. But the central and eastern parts of the island remained pleasant enough - at least until the local asylum started housing supervillains, and those supervillains started to periodically escape. Property values have plummeted, but that just makes it easier for the asylum to expand - which has become increasingly necessary. There are still some normal residences on the island, but they are gradually filling with asylum staff who believe a short commute is worth the risks. And as security increases, even those parts of the island outside of the asylum have begun to take on an institutional feel. |

Sub-boards: Park Row & The Bowery, The Stacked Deck The northernmost of the three large islands that make up the core of Gotham City. Over a century ago, when the city was far younger, this was planned to be an upscale and pleasant borough that would attract money and entertainment. The northern peninsula of the island is home to Amusement Mile, and the center of the island is dominated by Gotham Stadium - a large, multi-purpose indoor sports arena. But decades of mismanagement and neglect have gradually turned this part of the city into a rundown and crime-ridden area. Some neighborhoods are still safe enough if you keep your head down and your door locked, but Park Row - sometimes referred to as Crime Alley - and The Bowery are quite possibly the most dangerous parts of the city. |

Sub-board: Robinson Park The middlemost of the three large islands that make up the core of Gotham City. This is considered to be the more middle-class section of the city, as it's neighborhoods - including Coventry and the Upper East Side - contain the majority of the city's mid-sized apartment buildings, which aren't too dangerous or expensive to live in. A fair number of businesses are located here as well, mainly those that can't afford the larger price tag that comes with a location Downtown but can at least afford to not be in Uptown. But in addition to the price of rent and the crime rate, other features of the island include Gotham University and Robinson Park, which dominates much of the center of the island. |

Sub-boards: Old Gotham, My Alibi The largest and southernmost of the three large islands that make up the core of Gotham City. The northeastern part of the island, connected by many bridges to Midtown, is the Fashion District - where many high profile fashion companies keep their headquarters and sell their wares to the most fashion-conscious of the city. The area just south of the Fashion District is dominated by Gotham City's municipal buildings, including City Hall, the main Courthouse, and the other trappings of the government. Just south of that, along the south-eastern edge of the island, is the Financial District - home of the Gotham City Stock Exchange and other businesses that make money primarily by moving money around. Just west of the Fashion District and south of Robinson Park is the Diamond District, so called because of the many businesses there that deal in fine jewelry, and the apartments above these businesses as well as those in the Fashion District are where many of Gotham's elite have their penthouses. South of that is Old Gotham - the location of Wayne Tower, the headquarters of the GCPD, as well as several of the city's more historical landmarks. The northwestern part of the island, known simply as the Upper West Side, is much more industrial and contains most of the city's commercial docks, warehouses, and the other services required to get goods into and out of the city. Meanwhile, the southwestern part of the island contains Gotham's Chinatown - the city's Asian district. |

Sub-board: Tricorner South of Downtown is a group of rocky islands. The largest is Tricorner, which reaches far enough south to count as the southernmost tip of Gotham. The second largest is Blackgate Isle, which is dominated by Blackgate Penitentiary - which is naturally made more difficult to escape due to its location on a small island with nothing else on it. The rest of the islands are much smaller - too small to be valuable as proper real estate so instead they are managed as parks - including the island where the Statue of Justice stands. |

This is the part of the mainland immediately to the west of the main islands that form the core of Gotham city. Many vital but space-consuming elements of the city can be found here, including the Archie Goodwin International Airport and the main Gotham Light & Power buildings. There are also many warehouses, homes, and businesses in this area - many of them larger and cheaper than could be found in Gotham proper. But with the hassle of trying to find a bridge or tunnel into the city that isn't bottlenecked, it isn't worth it for many. |

Gotham is one of several large cities on the coast of New England, across the bay from Metropolis and not a very long drive from New York City - at least if you manage to avoid traffic. These and locations even further afield sometimes lure away the citizens of Gotham, at least for a time, and sometimes those from elsewhere find themselves drawn to Gotham. |

Old roleplaying threads that are finished or that haven't been responded to for over six months get put here, where they will hopefully be enjoyed because they were good instead of laughed at because everyone was so cute when they were still getting used to their characters. |
